Favorite celeb moments of Sundance
Watching a client's son try to pick up this pop star (he and the Pickle share a name...please don't let this be foreshadowing!
Hearing this actor diss Katelyn at our VIP party and then finding out he did the same thing to our most senior client
Awkwardly trying to take a photo of Katelyn's and this actress' matching Sorel boots
Sharing a primping room with this lovely lady (Ok, she primped, I pumped. Definitely not at the same time.)
Celeb fatigue? Impossible!

Sundance eats
Steam buns, Japanese pumpkin soup and Forbidden Tofu from Wahso, avocado salad from Chimayo |
While I only saw one film, I did get a table at some delightful restaurants during my trip here. (Disclosure: my client coordinated and promoted dining promotions at many of these spots.)
During Sundance, many restaurants create prix fixe menus just for the festival. While they feature delicious options, they can be pricey ($80). And, some even turn away festival goers so locals can still access their favorite spots like I read here.
My first night at the festival, my flight got in too late for the opening ceremony, so I popped into Wahso, an Asian restaurant on Main Street. That was my favorite meal! They had a prix fixe menu, and I chose steam buns, a Japanese pumpkin soup and an entree called Forbidden Tofu. All of it was delish! I ordered a sake martini, and to my surprise, my server left the whole shaker on my table for refills...I thought we were in Utah??? It was a shame that I was working.
Friday night, a co-worker and I were famished yet unfinished with the day's projects, so we set up a work dinner at Escala Provisions Co. in the Hyatt within the Canyons Resort. I particularly enjoyed the scallops. There was great live music that made for some lovely ambiance -- iPads and all.
Sunday night, we tried Chimayo on Main Street. It was lighted up so prettily! Super busy when we went. The house margarita, goat cheese and mozzarella chile relleno and an avocado salad all were awesome!
Monday night we popped in at Main Street Pizza & Noodle for some garlic knots and then grabbed some fudge from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory.
Really wanted to try some lodge dining, but it wasn't in the cards. Hope there's a next time!

Components of a perfect Sundance film - sex, a small dog and giant pencils in "Sightseers"
I got lucky! I thought I was going to be at Sundance for nearly a week without seeing a single film, but on Sunday, we got our hands on tickets to a midnight showing of "Sightseers," a dark comedy, at the Yarrow.
Cool coincidence that I heard director Ben Wheatley speak earlier in the day at Cinema Cafe on a panel with directors who spoke about how they became interested in the horror genre of films. (Disclosure: my client sponsored the panel.)
He was pretty entertaining during the Q&A. He said the film had three components for the perfect movie: sex, a small dog and giant pencils! He was right - I loved it! Super funny dark comedy. At first I was wondering why he was on the horror panel that morning since the movie was a comedy, but it didn't take long to see some gory bits.
"Sightseers" was a great choice for a midnight movie - it was funny, fast-moving and only 90 minutes.
My two hours at the movie was my longest period of being awake and not working. Not complaining, but the pace has been frenetic.
Here's my list of other Sundance films that I would love to see:
Two Mothers (Naomi Watts)S-VHS (same director as Blair Witch Project)
Lovelace (Amanda Seyfried)
Don Jon's Addiction (Joseph Gordon-Levitt's directing debut, Scarlett Johansson)
Before Midnight (sequel to Before Sunset with Ethan Hawk and Julie Delpy)
A.C.O.D. (Amy Poehler and Jessica Alba)
Emanuel and the Truth about Fishes (Jessica Biel)
Hell Baby (Leslie Bibb)....Realized that this was the girl I saw on the street whom I couldn't place. Duh.
Afternoon Delight (Jane Lynch, Josh Radnor)
Ain't Them Bodies Saints (Casey Affleck)
C.O.G (David Sedaris adaptation)
Sound City (Dave Grohl)
jOBS (Ashton Kutcher)
The Way, Way Back (Steve Carell)
Ass Backwards
Breathe In

More Sundance celebs!
It's funny - at Sundance, if you're wearing credentials, it feels like people's eyes scan your badge nonstop. I wanted to say, "Sorry, but I'm nobody." However, I did see some more somebodies on Sunday and Monday on the street and in my client's building...
Roll call:
Julie Delpy
Josh Radnor
Jane Lynch
Ellen Page
Alexander Skarsgard
Daniel Dae Kim
A tall, blond girl actress who I can't place (yes, I know that narrows it down)...driving me CRAZY
Update: that girl was Leslie Bibb! She's in "Hell Baby" at the Festival.

Sundance celebs
Whew! It's day four of Sundance, and I can barely catch my breath -- partially from the altitude but mostly from the crazy pace of managing a client's social media presence during the film festival. Hilariously, I'm not sure if I'll see a single film while I'm here. But, I have seen my share of celebs!
Roll call of everyone I've run into:
Alicia Keys
Ed Burns
Naomi Watts
Jessica Biel aka Mrs. Timberlake
Alfred Moreno
Joseph Gordon-Levitt
Tony Danza
Neon Hitch
Allison Janney
Rosemarie DeWitt
Ron Livingston
Ellen Page
Josh Radnor
Brie Larson
Michael Cera
But, out of all, here's my favorite little star:
Lots of amazing eats and VIP parties too!
Love how Phil helps me to keep it all real :)
